Action for A-T charity event

Our Professional Diploma students have recently executed a fantastic charity event in aid of Action for A-T.
One of the modules in their programme is events management, and there is no better way to learn this than to do it practically.

Action for A-T is a fantastic charity which Quest Professional has worked with for a number of years. The charities aim is to find a cure for Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T). The following passage is taken directly from the Action for A-T website and explains what problems this terrible disease causes:
A-T (Ataxia Telangiectasia) is a rare, genetic degenerative disease of childhood, which affects multiple systems of the human body. In people affected with A-T, a gene called ATM is mutated. The ATM gene contains the instructions for the production of the ATM protein. Thus, in A-T patients, the ATM protein is usually not produced at all, or is severely defective. The ATM protein controls many important functions in cells. A major function of ATM is orchestrating the complex response to specific types of damage inflicted on the DNA particularly by ionising radiation. Maintenance of DNA stability and integrity is critical for normal cellular life and therefore, cells devoid of ATM lack this vital defence mechanism. The nervous, immune and reproductive systems are particularly sensitive to the loss of ATM function.

Our students worked tirelessly over 9 months and managed to raise a staggering £19,000 for the charity. The event they organised was 'Cirque' themed and involved an array of entertainment from acrobats to a silent auction. Below are some pictures from the event....

Graduations

Last week was an incredibly busy week at Quest Professional!  Not only was it the final week before the Easter break, but we also had 3 graduation ceremonies. Students from our Executive PA and Business Apprentice Programmes who started with us last September have come to the end of their 6 months with us. Room 12 was converted into a huge space to celebrate our students’ success and hard work with family and friends.  Both groups have been fantastic and we wish them all the best with whatever they choose to pursue.

March also marked the end of our January Graduate Training Programme student’s 3-month course. They have worked extremely hard over the past few months, often staying late and showing an incredible amount of dedication towards their work both individually and in teams.
Finally, a huge congratulations to all of our students from all of these groups who have already secured jobs. For those who are still looking for the right opportunity, our doors are always open and you are welcome to pop in anytime!
Well done and good luck! - The Quest Team x

Lloyds of London

The students at Quest Professional often get to go on trips around London. These trips are aimed at educating the students about the types of career industries that they might not normally have considered.
Lloyd's of London insurance house were kind enough to give our students a tour, and give them an insight into the world of insurance. The students were given an indepth talk by a member of the Lloyd's insurance team, before being given a behind the scenes tour.

Below are just a few photos from a couple of the trips.

As you can see, Lloyd's is a huge building with several floors !
